Michelle Scully explained that she wanted to speak about the problems her friend Karin Howey, of Riverside Chalet was having as Simon Wright, owner of the Harbour Development Company was trying to evict her.  She said that although Mr Wright had previously claimed he loved and wanted to protect the chalets, apparently there was a letter in existence stating that he wanted to remove them.  Michelle said that through her own investigation she believed the rights to the Harbour had initially been gained fraudulently, by the then owners Tekoa.  She said that Karin was facing £9,000 court costs and being continually bombarded by Coodes Solicitors, who were trying to settle out of court.  She said that at the eviction hearing, the judge had postponed for a full hearing on 1 July.  Miche  read more »

ICOMOS does not believe that this report accurately reflects the ICOMOS comments, nor does it adequately respond to them. Secondly, the plans provided do not adequately address the heritage issues that have been raised.



Peter Channon told the committee that “a dreadful state has befallen Hayle” with the development. He compared the development site as looking like a bombed site in Beirut.
